If I had to compare the Tony’s Chocolonely milk chocolate bar to anything, I’d say it’s like a very thick Hershey bar. It’s a straightforwardly sweet and tasty chocolate with milky hints and a smooth finish. Stick it in the freezer, or have it with a cold glass of milk. I might criticize it for having a flavor that doesn’t especially stand out compared to other chocolates, but on the whole, it’s a solidly delicious bar.

In its mission, though, the Tony’s Chocolonely brand stands out like nobody else’s business. They’re aggressively opposed to slavery, particularly child slavery, in the chocolate industry. Tony’s leads by example with transparency, fairness, and a loud commitment to upholding human dignity in their practices. It’s not enough for Tony’s that their company produces slave-free chocolate–they want the entire industry to be free of slave labor. And that’s worth talking about.
